#2 If Charlie is any indication, Goldens do not like to be away from people. If you are looking for an independent dog, a Golden would be a poor choice. Get something like a Chinese Crested or a Shih Tzu, which will spend much of its time avoiding the unkind stares of humans and animals alike.

A few things to know before bringing a Golden into your house:
